ÇGH Adana station received a plaque of appreciation from Öger Türk Tur for its successful performance in 2009. During the conference that took place in a friendly and pleasurable atmosphere, the past one year was reviewed, and Öger Türk Tur officials presented the plaque to Çilem Özütok, the Apron Services Manager who represented the Station Manager, and thanked all Çelebi Adana employees for their punctual, high quality and successful service. Lezzet Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. sent a letter of appreciation to ÇGH İzmir Station for the dedicated efforts and close cooperation exhibited during the shipment of 400 MT of high energy biscuits dispatched to Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake. The relief sent to Haiti by the UN World Food Program (WFP) has been produced by Lezzet Gıda. Signed by Ahmet Toyran, Foreign Trade Manager for Lezzet Gıda, the letter read “On behalf of our company, we would like extend our heartfelt thanks to ÇGH İzmir Station employees for their cooperation, skill and committed efforts. Wishing you continued success in the future.” ÇGH İstanbul Station successfully served Grozny-Avia Airlines that made its maiden flight from Grozny to İstanbul. Type YK-42 aircraft with the registration number RA-42379 and flight number ADISP9721 departed from Chechnya and landed at İstanbul Atatürk Airport. The ÇGH ATA Station officials welcomed the crew with flowers and Turkish delight, and also had the chance to watch live a brief show performed in front of the aircraft by Daymokh, the Chechen State Folk Dance Group of Children, and Vainakh, the State Folk Dance Group who were on board the plane. The passengers included the Chechnya Minister of Culture and Tourism and the Mayor of Grozny as well as Emruddin Edilgreyev, the Deputy President of Chechnya. VIP and Olympic Air Service representatives who participated in the welcoming ceremony extended their thanks to Çelebi İstanbul team for the successful and smooth operation. Having taken off from İstanbul to return to Grozny with 119 passengers, Grozny-Avia Airlines increased the number of weekly flights to four from the second week, which started with two flights per week. Chaired by Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Secretary General of NATO, and hosted by Vecdi Gönül, the Minister of National Defense of Turkey, the Informal Meeting of NATO Defense Ministers took place on 4 and 5 February 2010 at the İstanbul Congress Center. ÇGH İstanbul Station provided service to the aircraft that carried Secretary General of NATO Rasmussen and the US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, as well as the defense ministers of many countries including Germany and France. Making a strong impression for its operations, the ÇGH İstanbul team was admired and appreciated by the passengers. Owned by Airbus, the first A330-200 F cargo plane with serial number MSN001 has been brought to İstanbul for delivery to Turkish Airlines following its commercial presentation at the Singapore Airshow. Having taken off from Singapore on February 9th, the aircraft landed at Atatürk Airport. Provided with successful ground handling services by ÇGH İstanbul Station, A330-200 F cargo plane left the same day for Toulouse to be painted in the colors of THY at a plant in France. Undersigning a smooth service with the contributions of ÇGH Operations and Ramp Departments and with the consistent and effective support from GAT, ÇGH İstanbul team’s performance was deemed perfect by the flight crew and other THY representatives. ÇGH stations keep piling up awards. ÇGH Bodrum and Dalaman stations enjoyed the well-deserved pride of re-endorsing their service quality with the “Be on Track” award given by Thomson Airways. Sharing the good news received from Thomson Airways management with the ÇGH senior management, the station managers stated, “Thomson Airways has adopted the slogan of making the customers feel special. We are doing our best to help them realize this pledge.” Sending an email to the directors of awarded stations for their 100% successful performance based on the 2009 summer season SCM (Supply Chain Management) assessment by the airline, Thomson Airways representatives took the opportunity to congratulate Çelebi employees once again. ÇGH Denizli Station commenced providing ground handling services to AnadoluJet Airlines’ flights bound to Ankara. Involving night stops, Ankara-Denizli-Ankara flights of AnadoluJet started off with the first aircraft that landed at Denizli Airport on March 14th at 11:45 p.m. with 14 passengers. While the arriving crew members were greeted with flowers and chocolates by the ÇGH Denizli staff, THY Denizli Directorate presented carnations to the passengers. Having departed from Denizli at 07:30 a.m. on March 15th with 39 passengers, AnadoloJet’s representatives thanked Denizli Station team for the successful ground handling offered, and expressed their wish for a long-lived and mutually beneficial collaboration. ANK-DNZ-ANK flights of AnadoluJet will be ongoing through the summer on six days of the week. Having commenced offering ground handling services as of 01 July 2009 within the frame of the ten-year ground handling license contract earned for the Mumbai International Airport, one of the largest airports in India, Çelebi-Nas India continues to expand its customer portfolio. Çelebi-Nas India personnel provided their first-ever service to SriLankan Airlines, the national airline of Srilanka, and to NAS Air on April 1st. With the services started to be offered to these two airlines, the number of customers Çelebi-Nas works on a contract basis rose to 15. From now on, our ground handling company in Mumbai will be serving 134 international flights and 364 domestic flights every week. SriLankan Airlines aircraft that landed at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport with 95 passengers, and the NAS Air plane that arrived with 59 passengers departed on the same day. During the welcoming ceremony attended by the entire senior management of Çelebi-Nas India, flowers and chocolates were presented to the flight crews. With 7 daily flights scheduled every week, SriLankan Airlines took off with 120 passengers, while NAS Air, which has four flights per week, had 124 passengers on board. NAS Air stated that they intend to hold additional flights during the hajj period in particular, and to include Delhi among its destinations, as well. Çelebi Ground Handling shared the pride of the achievements it has secured back to back in India at a gala night with the President Abdullah Gül, who was on a state visit to India, and the accompanying ministers. Çelebi Ground Handling sponsored the gala night held on the last day of the Turkish President Abdullah Gül’s state visit to India that took place from 07 to 12 February 2010. Organized by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), the state visit started in Delhi with the participation of businessmen already pursuing operations or planning to do business in this country, and came to a conclusion with the gala night held at Mumbai Taj Mahal Palace Hotel sponsored by ÇGH and attended by President Gül and his entourage. Having come to Mumbai after visiting Taj Mahal following their time in Delhi, President Gül, Minister of Transport Binali Yıldırım and Minister of Health Recep Akdağ and their spouses took part in the glamorous occasion, which was scene to local folk dances from various regions of India. Including major businessmen in India as well as the Turkish delegation, the guests received evil eye beads with elephant figures that blended the Turkish and Indian cultures as a gift from Çelebi. During the state visit of the Turkish delegation, ÇGH announced the successes it has earned back to back in India at a press conference jointly held with GMR, ÇGH’s partner in Delhi, and attended by the ministers of transport of both countries. Organized at the Delhi Oberoi Hotel in New Delhi, the conference attracted a significant participation by the representatives of the local media and the Turkish media who were accompanying the delegation. At the press conference, Cenk Alpsoy, Country CEO for GMR Turkey, and Canan Çelebioğlu Tokgöz, Vice Chairperson of the Board of Çelebi Holding also gave speeches, as well as the two transport ministers. In her speech, Çelebioğlu Tokgöz underlined that India holds a special place within Çelebi’s international investments, and added that Çelebi’s investments at the New Delhi International Indira Gandhi and Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airports in 2009 and 2010 will be worth approximately USD 100 million in total. Çelebioğlu Tokgöz noted that Çelebi will be a major contributor to civil aviation in India with its state-of-the art equipment, world-class services, and particularly with the positive competitive environment it creates. After the press conference, the Minister of Transport Binali Yıldırım and the delegation accompanying him congratulated Çelebi Family on their achievements. |
